How long would it take to get from one side of our sun, the milky way galaxy, our solar system, any size red giant, and any size nebula to the other at the speed of light?

galaxy over about 100 billion yaers. from sun to earth is about 5-8 mins so just figure that on a map. i would guess about under an hour to pluto.
A) Galaxy, about 100,000 years.
B) Sun, about 5 seconds
C) Solar System, it depends on if you mean the orbit of Pluto or all the way out to the Oort cloud.
let’s pick one: the solar system
if we stipulate that pluto’s orbit is the outer edge of our solar system and that it’s farthest distance in its orbit is the outer edge, then that’s about 7.4 billion km from the sun.
That’s the radius.
Double that for a diameter and it’s 14.8 billion.
Assume light travels about 1 billion km per hour (roughly). It would take about 14 years to go across our solar system in your scenario.
This is Budweiser Math.. so don’t put this on a school paper.
to yellow14228 sometimes it is best to not answer questions and apear dumb than to answer them and remove ALL doubt!
lets say you had a spaceship that could fly at the speed of light. this is actually impossible unless you rip spacetime, but we’ll ignore that. you blast off from earth, travel to the end of the known universe, and come back. every one on earth thinks that you’ve been gone for about 26 billion years. this is because the edge of the known universe is 13 bilion light years away. for you, however, it will actually take ZERO time. this is because time “slows” for a very fast moving object, and actually stops for one moving at the speed of light. you could travel to every point in the universe, including the ones that are too far a way to see, and your watch wouldn’t tick once. you wouldn’t even see what was happening because light wouldn’t reach your eyes and your brain couldn’t process the information.
To the sun 8 minutes the galaxy 150 thousand years. light travels 6million million miles a year.
